Amazon is planning a large-scale data center campus at Ambernath. It combines high-capacity data center blocks with dedicated power, water, and utility infrastructure to support its expanding digital infrastructure network.
Project Overview:
Amazon Data Services India Private Limited is developing a data center campus at Asode and Burdul villages in Ambernath, Thane. The development is planned across an anticipated 48.85 Acres and will have a total construction area of approximately 424,0313 SqFt. The estimated construction cost is 3,500 INR-Crore, with construction planned from 2026 to 2029. The campus will have an IT power capacity of 473 MW.
Amazon acquired the project land from Macrotech Developers. Amazon Data Services acquired approximately 38 Acres from the Lodha Group in 2024 for the data Center development, according to the property transaction reported in the supplied document.
The proposed development will comprise four data Center buildings, each configured as Ground Floor + 7 Upper Floors. The project will also include an Auxiliary Water Building, a 220 kV GIS Building, a pump room, an OWC room, and an STP room to support the data centre operations.
The site plan also identifies a 220 kV substation with transformers and multiple raw-water tanks.
Meanwhile, Lodha is currently undertaking the design work in-house and is acting as the design consultant for Amazon. In addition, Ramboll India Private Limited has undertaken the technical due diligence and geotechnical investigation for the site, A dedicated design architect will be appointed at a later stage of the project.

The project is currently at the pre-construction stage, with design and specifications work in progress. As of August 2026, Lodha is undertaking the design work in-house and is currently acting as the design consultant for Amazon.
