The Bihar cabinet has sanctioned an estimated 2,740 INR-Crore for the road infrastructure upgrade, aiming to modernise transport and improve access across the state. The decision aligns with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s vision to ensure every region reaches Patna within 3.5 hours by 2027.
Key projects include a 696 INR-Crore flyover from Gandhi Chowk to Nagarpalika Chowk in Chhapra. This will ease traffic congestion and improve urban mobility. In Patna, 1,368 INR-Crore has been allocated for a 2-lane and 4-lane elevated corridor from AIIMS to the Digha rail-cum-road bridge.

Additionally, 675 INR-Crore will fund the Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Path Chakra along Nehru Path. This circular road will streamline traffic flow and reduce travel time across the capital. The Bihar road infrastructure upgrade also includes completing pending works under NHAI and building a connector to Ashok Rajpath. These developments will enhance access to JP Ganga Path, AIIMS, and Digha.
