Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, August 12, approved the Lucknow Metro Rail Phase-1B. The new corridor will cover nearly 11.165 Km with 12 total stations. Officials will build seven underground and five elevated metro stations. After completion, Lucknow will have a 34 Km operational metro network.
Lucknow Metro Phase-1B will bring metro services to crowded, underserved city areas. The route will connect Aminabad, Yahiyaganj, Pandeyganj, and Chowk directly. The project aims to improve urban mobility and reduce congestion.

The Lucknow Metro Rail will connect major tourist spots like Bara and Chota Imambara. It will also link Bhool Bhulaiya, Clock Tower, and Rumi Darwaza. Furthermore, the estimated 5,801 INR-Crore project will ease traffic in Old Lucknow. Also, the metro will reduce travel time and improve overall road safety.
The project will improve access to airports, stations, and bus depots. Once operational, Lucknow Metro Phase-1B will transform mobility across urban Lucknow. Also, it will drive growth, tourism, and environmental sustainability together.
