The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the Airports Authority of India’s (AAI) proposal to develop a Greenfield Airport at Kota-Bundi in Rajasthan. The project will cost an estimated 1,507 INR-Crore.
The Government of Rajasthan has already transferred 440.06 (Ha) Hectares of land for the project. AAI will develop this Kota-Bundi Airport to support A-321 aircraft operations. This includes a 3,200 M x 45 M runway, two Link Taxiways, and a 20,000 SqM Terminal Building. Additionally, the terminal will handle 1000 Peak Hour Passengers and serve up to 2 Million Passengers Per Annum. The design includes seven A-321 parking bays, an ATC and Technical Block, a Fire Station, a car park, and other essential infrastructure.

Given Kota’s growing demand due to its educational and industrial sectors, the Kota-Bundi Airport will cater to future traffic growth effectively.The current Kota Airport, owned by AAI, features a 1,220 M x 38 M runway (08/26), two Code ‘B’ aircraft bays, and a small 400 SqM terminal. Further, AAI selected a new site to construct a modern Greenfield Airport to meet increasing connectivity needs.
