The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the construction of an 82.4 Km greenfield, access-controlled Mokama-Munger road section, in Bihar. This project is a part of the Buxar–Bhagalpur high-speed corridor. With a sanctioned cost of 4,447.38 INR-Crore, the project will be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) and is expected to be completed within three years.
The corridor will connect key regional hubs, including Mokama, Barahiya, Lakhisarai, Jamalpur, and Munger, ultimately linking to Bhagalpur. The proposed Mokama-Munger road will reduce travel time to just 1.5 hours, offering safer and uninterrupted connectivity for both freight and passenger traffic.

The Mokama-Munger road project will generate 14.83 lakh man-days of direct employment and 18.46 lakh man-days of indirect employment, further stimulating industrial activity and job creation in the region.
