PM Narendra Modi virtually laid the foundation stone for the 200 MW Solar Project by SJVN at Khavda in the Kachchh district of Gujarat. The project is being developed at an estimated cost of 866.8 INR-Crore and will supply power to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for the next 25 years.
The Khavda Solar Project by SJVN is part of the larger Khavda Solar Park, led by Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL). It is set for commissioning by December 31, 2026. In its first year, the plant will generate 504.92 Million Units of electricity and 11,620 Million Units over 25 years.

This solar initiative supports India’s goal of 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and will create jobs in Gujarat. SJVN, with 14 commissioned projects totaling 2,968 MW, is expanding its renewable portfolio across India and beyond. The project further marks a key step in India’s clean energy journey and strengthens the country’s focus on sustainable growth.
