Delhi University (DU) has launched an estimated 1,912 INR-Crore campus modernisation initiative, marking one of its largest infrastructure upgrades. The plan includes multiple projects aimed at improving academic and residential facilities
The DU campus modernisation plan includes new campuses, academic blocks, hostels, libraries, and a cultural center. At the Dhaka campus in North-West Delhi, a nine-storey Institution of Eminence Hostel worth 332.83 INR-Crore will house 1,436 students in a gender-inclusive setup. Meanwhile, the Computer Center and Faculty of Technology buildings are nearing completion. In East Delhi’s Surajmal Vihar, a new Law Academic Block is coming up on a 15.25 Acres site at an estimated 373 INR-Crore, featuring classrooms, moot courts, and labs for law programmes.

DU’s South Campus will get a new academic building for 24.6 INR-Crore and an expanded Geetanjali Girls Hostel costing 11.23 INR-Crore. In West Delhi, the Dwarka campus will have an academic block worth 107 INR-Crore. A new Veer Savarkar College is also coming up in Najafgarh’s Roshanpura village for 140 INR-Crore. With these projects, Delhi University aims to strengthen and modernise its academic infrastructure.
