SiCSem Pvt Ltd will lay the foundation stone for its second semiconductor unit in Odisha on November 1. The SiCSem Odisha project involves an estimated investment of around 2,067 INR-Crore to set up a compound semiconductor manufacturing facility. The unit will supply components for electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, and power management equipment.
The company has been allotted 23 Acres of land by Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) at the Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) hub in Info Valley. The upcoming plant will process about 60,000 SiC wafers each year and package nearly 96 Million MOSFETs and diodes. The state’s first semiconductor unit by RIR Power Electronics is also under development in the same park.

Going ahead, the SiCSem Odisha project will create around 1,000 direct jobs, along with additional indirect opportunities in supporting sectors. Meanwhile, 3D Glass Solutions will invest 1,943 INR-Crore to set up an advanced packaging and embedded glass substrate unit at Info Valley-II. This further strengthens Odisha’s position as a growing semiconductor and electronics hub.
