Harman, a part of Samsung Electronics, will invest an estimated 345 INR-Crore to expand its automotive plant in Chakan, Pune. The upgrade will help make India a hub for advanced and eco-friendly mobility technology. The company will invest 45 INR-Crore now and another 300 INR-Crore over the next three years.
The expansion will add 71,505 SqFt of new space, including a 45,000 SqFt production floor. This proposed project will further increase the plant’s output by nearly 50% and create 300 new jobs by 2027. The Harman Pune plant unit will focus on building next-generation technologies for connected vehicles. It will cater to both Indian and global markets, including Europe and North America.

Key production lines will include 5G and 4G Telematics Control Units (TCUs) for automakers like Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki. The plant will also produce Harman Ready Connect — a system developed with Samsung that supports OTA updates, cybersecurity, and cloud integration. By 2027, the Harman Pune plant is projected to produce four Million car audio components, 1.4 Million infotainment units, and 0.8 Million TCUs annually.
