Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that the Center has approved an estimated 145,000 INR-Crore for Paradip Development, focusing on port-based industries and a petrochemical hub. He made the statement while inaugurating the Kalinga Balijatra at Biju Maidan. Moreover, the Central Government has now expanded the plan with a larger investment, including a chip-to-ship semiconductor unit.
The State Government has allocated 500 INR-Crore to build a modern cruise terminal on the Mangala River. Moreover, this project aims to attract tourists and position Paradip as a key coastal destination. Furthermore, Paradip Port remains one of India’s most vital centers for trade, industry, and employment. Consequently, the Government plans to develop greenfield airports, industrial corridors, and tourism-friendly beaches around the area to enhance both connectivity and livelihood opportunities.

Additionally, the Center has approved 80,000 INR-Crore for a petrochemical complex in Paradip. The naphtha cracker unit will generate nearly 25,000 jobs. Alongside this, an eight-lane highway will be built from Paradip to Barbil. Meanwhile, the first construction phase from Paradip to Chandikhole is already in progress. A petroleum storage facility worth 13,000 INR-Crore will be established in Jajpur, adding momentum to Paradip Development.
The CM further shared plans for a 40,000 INR-Crore green hydrogen hub in Paradip to promote cleaner energy. Additionally, the state will develop a new airport in Paradip and a medical college in Jagatsinghpur district, strengthening Paradip development and regional infrastructure growth.
