PM Modi unveils 8,140 INR-Crore Uttarakhand development projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a range of Uttarakhand development projects with an estimated cost of 8,140 INR-Crore during his visit to Dehradun. These projects cover key sectors including water supply, irrigation, education, energy, urban development, sports, and skill training. Out of the total, projects worth 930 INR-Crore were inaugurated, while those worth 7,210 INR-Crore had their foundation stones laid.

The key projects include the Dehradun water supply network for 23 zones under the AMRUT scheme, a new electrical substation in Pithoragarh, and solar power plants in government buildings. The AstroTurf Hockey Ground at Haldwani Stadium was also inaugurated to promote sports in the state.

PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the Song Dam Drinking Water Project, which will supply 150 Million-Liters of water per day to Dehradun. He also launched the Jamarani Dam Multipurpose Project in Nainital to boost irrigation, electricity generation, and drinking water supply. A Women’s Sports College in Champawat and a modern dairy plant in Nainital will create jobs and support women and youth in the region.

The Uttarakhand development projects reflect the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision by promoting “Vocal for Local” initiatives. These projects will boost tourism and strengthen the local economy. They will also create new opportunities for farmers, entrepreneurs, and communities across the state.
