The Delhi Government has approved an estimated 2,406 INR-Crore plan linked to the Chandrawal water supply project, marking a major upgrade for Central and North Delhi’s water system. The initiative now aims to replace ageing transmission lines and improve water supply for nearly 22 Lakh residents across nine constituencies.
The project covers an anticipated 96 SqM catchment area, where nearly 1,000 Km of old pipelines will be replaced to build a stronger and cleaner water network. It will also rehabilitate 21 underground reservoirs serving areas such as Karol Bagh, Rajinder Nagar, Patel Nagar, Chandni Chowk, Matia Mahal, Model Town, Ballimaran, Sadar Bazar, and RK Puram. The project is planned to be completed within three years and is divided into six packages.
