The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has taken a significant step forward with the Dahisar-Bhayander Link Road. It has invited tenders for a Project Management Consultant (PMC) to oversee the estimated 3,304 INR-Crore elevated corridor. The road will span 5.6 Km and be 45 Meters wide. Furthermore, it will feature 4 x 4 lanes and aims to reduce congestion. Commuters along the Versova–Bhayander route can expect travel time to be cut by 30–45 minutes.
The elevated corridor will run from Kandarpada Metro Station, Dahisar (W), to Uttan Road near Subhash Chandra Bose Ground, Bhayander (W). It will pass through sensitive natural areas, including mangroves, creeks, and salt pans. The construction will be on stilts, with 1.5 Km under BMC and 4.1 Km managed with Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC). The work will align with the Mumbai Coastal Road Project – North, and the elevated link road is expected to be completed by December 2028.
