Ayodhya Temple museum to come up on 52 Acres of land

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the expansion of the museum planned in Ayodhya. Clearing the way for an estimated 750 INR-Crore world-class cultural destination. The project was earlier designed for 25 Acres, and it will now be an anticipated 52.102 Acres. Tata Sons Pvt Ltd will develop and manage the project through CSR support. The approval came soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the completion of the Ram Mandir, adding more cultural value to the upcoming temple museum in Ayodhya.

The project area increased after the Cabinet approved an additional 27.102 Acres in Manjha Jamthara village. This land will now be transferred to the tourism department. The state-of-the-art museum will showcase the history of the country’s famous temples. It will also virtually display the journey of the architecture of the Indian temples from the prehistoric age till date, officials said. As the project moves forward, Tata Group plans to showcase India’s temple architecture and craftsmanship engagingly. The museum in Ayodhya will focus on creating a temple experience that shows how structures evolved across different regions.

The museum team earlier shared a detailed presentation with the Prime Minister. Later, the Union Ministry of Culture, the UP Tourism Department, and Tata Sons signed a tripartite MoU. Last year in June, the cabinet had agreed to allot 25 Acres of land to Tata Sons for a 90-year lease. This agreement would support smooth construction and long-term operations through a Section 8 not-for-profit SPV. Overall, the project aims to help visitors understand the country’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
