Odisha secures 67,000 INR-Crore investment to develop 6.8 GW Renewable Energy capacity

Odisha has secured investment commitments worth an estimated 67,000 INR-Crore to develop 6.8 GW of renewable energy capacity. The scale of this expansion marks one of the state’s largest clean power initiatives to date. Gridco signed MoUs with ABC Cleantech Private Limited and Axis Energy to develop 5,000 MW capacity at an estimated investment of 47,750 INR -Crore.

These projects will cover wind, agro-voltaic, solar power, hybrid solar with battery energy storage systems, and green hydrogen and its derivatives. Additionally, Gridco partnered with National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited to build the 1,000 MW Masintha Pumped Storage Project with an investment of around 6,036 INR -Crore. It also signed an agreement with North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited for the 800 MW Dandadhar Pumped Storage Project worth 4,000 INR-Crore.

Furthermore, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited will develop 500 MW of RE capacity with an investment of 3,000 INR-Crore. Overall, Odisha secured around 6,000 INR-Crore in additional renewable energy investment intents on day one of the conclave. These projects will strengthen energy security and support industrial growth.
