The Government of Tamil Nadu has signed two major MoUs to secure fresh industrial investments in the state. Under the agreements, Aequs Group will invest 4,000 INR-Crore, while NMB-Minebea India Private Limited will invest 1,980 INR-Crore. These commitments mark a significant expansion of advanced manufacturing capacity in Tamil Nadu.
Aequs Group will establish an aerospace and defence manufacturing cluster at SIPCOT-Shoolagiri Industrial Park in Krishnagiri district, Tamil Nadu. Furthermore, the company will manufacture aircraft engines, gearbox components, and precision engineering systems at the facility.

Meanwhile, NMB-Minebea India will set up a semiconductor and electronic components manufacturing and research facility at Mahindra Origins Industrial Park in Tiruvallur district. The company will produce insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs), integrated circuits (ICs), motors, and sensors. The project is projected to create approximately 1,400 jobs.
Together, the two investments total 5,980 INR-Crore. Consequently, the projects will strengthen Tamil Nadu’s semiconductor, electronics, aerospace, and defence manufacturing ecosystem. The Aequs Group investment in Tamil Nadu will enhance aerospace production capacity, while NMB-Minebea’s facility will support the state’s semiconductor value chain. Meanwhile, the MoUs align with the state’s ongoing efforts to attract high-value manufacturing investments and generate large-scale employment.
