The Government of Assam has approved the Silchar five-star hotel project with an estimated investment of 103 INR-Crore. The state cabinet cleared the proposal on Sunday, March 8. The project will be developed by Polo Hotels Group in Silchar. The initiative aims to introduce the city’s first five-star hospitality property and strengthen tourism infrastructure in the Barak Valley region.

The upcoming hotel will feature around 100 luxury rooms and suites designed to meet international hospitality standards. The property will include conference and event facilities, dining outlets, and premium guest amenities to cater to business travelers, corporate events, and high-end tourism. The development will further introduce modern hospitality infrastructure to Silchar, which currently lacks large-scale luxury accommodation.
