Tsuyo Manufacturing has announced the EV powertrain unit in Karnataka with a planned investment of 250 INR-Crore. The company signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with the Government of Karnataka during the Bengaluru Tech Summit in early 2026. The facility will be developed in Dharwad and will support the state’s electric mobility manufacturing ecosystem.
The project will be developed on approximately 30 Acres and will include an EV powertrain manufacturing unit along with a dedicated testing track for commercial vehicles. The facility will manufacture electric motors, e-drives, e-axles, automatic transmissions, and integrated powertrain systems. Production capacity will range from 0.5 kW to 250 kW, with scalability up to 600 kW through partnerships. Additionally, the testing track will support validation of buses, trucks, and mining vehicles under real operating conditions.

The project will generate around 700 jobs and strengthen domestic manufacturing of EV components. It will also reduce reliance on imports and support the growing commercial EV ecosystem. In the long term, the Tsuyo EV powertrain unit will contribute to industrial growth in north Karnataka. Consequently, supporting India’s transition to electric mobility.
