Delhi Government approves 1,668 INR-Crore Dheerpur Campus for Ambedkar University

The Delhi Government has approved the proposed Dheerpur campus of Dr B R Ambedkar University Delhi at an estimated cost of 1,668 INR-Crore. The project will be developed in Dheerpur, Delhi. According to the university, the approval has accelerated a project that had remained in the pipeline for several years. Construction is expected to be completed in around three years, subject to timelines finalized by the Public Works Department (PWD).

The Ambedkar University Dheerpur campus will feature modern academic infrastructure designed around student-centric learning principles. The project will include technology-enabled teaching spaces, collaborative work areas, open discussion zones and co-learning spaces. The university has finalized the architectural designs for both the proposed Dheerpur and Rohini campuses. However, construction will begin with the Dheerpur campus. The project aims to address space constraints at the university’s existing campuses and support future academic expansion.

The Ambedkar University Dheerpur campus will strengthen higher education infrastructure in Delhi. Additionally, the project will create capacity for future student growth through modern academic facilities. The new campus also supports the university’s long-term infrastructure expansion plans under the approved development program.
