Rashmi Group to invest 35,000 INR-Crore across steel, power and mining in West Bengal

Rashmi Group will invest an estimated 35,000 INR-Crore across steel, power and mining projects in West Bengal, significantly expanding its industrial footprint in the state. The company announced the investment commitment during the Bengal Global Business Summit 2026. The proposed investments will be implemented across multiple projects in West Bengal.

The company will invest approximately 30,000 INR-Crore to establish a greenfield steel manufacturing facility in Paschim Medinipur district. The proposed plant will have an annual production capacity of 7 Million Tonnes (MTPA). Additionally, company will invest 5,000 INR-Crore to develop operationalising three coal mines located in Birbhum and Paschim Bardhaman districts. The company had earlier signed an MoU with the Telangana Government for projects worth 12,500 INR-Crore. However, the latest announcement revises the group’s investment focus toward West Bengal. The company also plans to develop an integrated steel complex supported by an 850 MW captive power plant and a 1.45 MTPA cement manufacturing unit.

The Rashmi Group West Bengal investment is expected to strengthen the state’s industrial ecosystem and attract further investments in heavy industry. It will also support long-term growth across the steel, mining, and power sectors in West Bengal.
