Bridge and Roof Company (India) Ltd has won the 566.6 INR-Crore contract for the Broadway bus stand development project in Chennai. The initiative aims to transform Broadway into a high-density, transit-oriented urban center.
It includes the construction of a Multimodal Facility Complex (MMFC) and the redevelopment of the Kuralagam building. The Broadway bus stand project will feature:
- 73 bus bays (36 on the ground floor, 23 on the first floor, and 14 at Kuralagam)
- 1.1 Lakh-SqM built-up area for MMFC and 22,794 SqM for Kuralagam
- 30 elevators and 27 escalators across the complex
- Air-conditioned concourse linking both buildings
- Parking for 433 cars and 1,174 two-wheelers

The bus terminal is expected to be completed in 24 months, while the commercial towers and Kuralagam redevelopment will take 30 months. Chennai Metro Asset Management Limited (CMAML) is executing this project. CMAML is a joint venture between Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) and Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO). With this Broadway bus stand development, Chennai moves closer to a modernized transit hub, enhancing commuter convenience and urban infrastructure.
