Lonavla Skywalk: Internal Road work begins for 909 INR-Crore tourism project

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has initiated internal road construction for the Lonavla skywalk. This marks the first step in Maharashtra’s 909.04 INR-Crore tourism project.

The Lonavla skywalk will be 125 Meters long and 6 Meters wide, connecting Lion’s Point and Tiger’s Point. Inspired by the Grand Canyon Skywalk, it will also feature a 90 Meter-long bridge, enhancing visitor experience.

To improve accessibility, PMRDA is widening the 11 Km A1 Chikki-Skywalk stretch to 45 Meters and constructing a new elevated freeway between Mulshi and Lonavla. The authority has secured 20.90 Ha (Hectares) of forest land. Additionally, 3,378 SqM of private land are in the final acquisition stage.

Moreover, the Lonavla skywalk will include a 5,000 SqM rooftop cafe, a 1,000-seater amphitheater, an adventure sports zone, and more. Additionally, it will feature parking for 1,600 cars and 2,000 two-wheelers. With internal road work underway, the Lonavla skywalk is set to transform the region’s tourism landscape.
