The Vijayawada Metro Phase-1 will be executed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model. The project aims for completion within 30 months, with the flyover targeted for 24 months. Spain-based TYPSA Consultancy has been appointed as the general consultant. It will oversee planning, design, and construction to ensure global standards.
Funding will come from a joint venture model: 20% each from the Central and State governments, and 60% via soft loans backed by Central guarantees. Meanwhile, the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) will contribute nearly 3,497 INR-Crore as the state’s share.
