Gautam Solar to set up 4,000 INR-Crore 5 GW solar cell plant in Madhya Pradesh

Gautam Solar Private Ltd (GSPL) announced an estimated investment of 4,000 INR- Crore to build a solar cell plant in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The plant will cover approximately 4 Acres and produce advanced TOPCon cells with a capacity of 5 Gigawatts (GW).

The company has started with Phase 1 Implementation, which will set up 2 GW solar cell manufacturing capacity. After completing Phase 1, Gautam Solar will launch an IPO to raise funds for Phase 2, which will add 3 GW capacity. Additionally, the company aims to deepen the domestic solar manufacturing base using the latest TOPCon technology, said Gautam Mohanka, Director at Gautam Solar

Moreover, the upcoming project will strengthen India’s solar cell plant ecosystem and align with the national clean energy targets. Currently, Gautam Solar runs multiple units and targets around 5 GW solar module manufacturing capacity by FY 2026, compared to 3.2 GW now.
