Adani Power Ltd has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from MP Power Management Company Ltd (MPPMCL) for a 1,600 MW power supply contract. This move marks a significant expansion of the company’s footprint in Madhya Pradesh. The project will be executed under the Design, Build, Finance, Own, and Operate (DBFOO) model and involves setting up a new ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in Anuppur district.
The award includes an initial 800 MW allocation, followed by an additional 800 MW under the Greenshoe Option. This will mark India’s first such application in a thermal power tender. Both units will be commissioned within 60 months of the appointed date, with power supplied at a tariff of 5.838 INR per kWh.

The initiative will generate nearly 9,000–10,000 jobs during construction and employ around 2,000 people once operational.
