Chief Justice of India B. R. Gavai laid the foundation stone for the new Bandra High Court complex in Mumbai, marking a major step in modernizing the city’s judicial infrastructure. The Maharashtra Government has approved an estimated cost of 4,127.48 INR-Crore for the construction. The Bandra High Court complex will meet the growing needs of the Bombay High Court. It will include modern facilities that make court operations more efficient and comfortable for judges, lawyers, and visitors.
The project will be built on an anticipated 30.16 Acres site in Bandra (East), next to the Western Express Highway. The state has already allocated 15 Acres, and the remaining land will be provided by March 2026. Construction will take around 60 months and is planned for completion within five years. Moreover, this project, designed by Architect Hafeez Contractor, features a 450 Meter semi-circular façade, a 70 Meter dome, and a 50 Meter Ashoka Pillar. The complex will have 75 courtrooms, a grand atrium, libraries, mediation and arbitration centers, and parking for about 3,750 cars and 1,000 two-wheelers.
