The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has approved the 1,757.55 INR-Crore Bhopal-Vidisha four-lane project. The project will widen the 44.83 Km Bhopal-Vidisha road from 2 lanes to 4 lanes. It will include paved shoulders along the upgraded corridor. The project will improve connectivity between Bhopal and Vidisha and nearby cities.
The Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation will execute the project under the Hybrid Annuity Model. The corporation will bear 40% of the construction cost, including GST, through the State Highway Fund. The remaining 60% will come from the state budget through half-yearly annuities over 15 years. The project is proposed for completion over 5 years. Additionally, the Cabinet approved user-fee collection on the 51.963 Km Bhopal Bypass from July 19, 2026, to December 31, 2031.

The Bhopal-Vidisha four-lane project will strengthen road connectivity across the proposed Bhopal metropolitan region. Further, the upgraded corridor will improve movement between Bhopal and Vidisha. The project will also support connectivity with nearby cities along the route. The state will implement the project through a combination of construction funding and annuity payments.
