The International Finance Corporation, through its Gujarat operations (IFC Gujarat), has committed 50 US$-Million to GFCL EV Products Ltd, a subsidiary of Gujarat Fluorochemicals Ltd (GFL). This investment will help establish India’s first fully integrated battery-materials facility at Jolva near Bharuch. It is structured through compulsorily convertible instruments and shows confidence in GFL’s integrated model. It also supports the company’s expansion into advanced battery materials.

Additionally, the greenfield plant will produce LiPF6, electrolyte formulations, LFP cathode materials, and PVDF/PTFE binders for EVs and energy-storage systems. The facility is located near Bharuch and is expected to strengthen domestic supply chains. It will also reduce import dependence and position India as a competitive player in the global battery materials market. Barclays served as the financial advisor to GFCL EV for this investment.
