Rajasthan Govt approves two drinking water projects valued at 5,184 INR-Crore

The Rajasthan Government has approved two major drinking water projects worth an estimated 5,184 INR-Crore. The schemes, Nonera Drinking Water Project and Parvan–Akawad Drinking Water Project, will benefit households across Kota, Bundi, Jhalawar, and Baran districts.

The Nonera mega project will supply drinking water to 749 villages and six towns in Kota and Bundi. It will cover 113,287 families. Moreover, the plan includes one intake pumping station, three water treatment plants, 14 clear‑water reservoirs, and 137 elevated water tanks. The project will also lay a 58.45 Km raw water rising main and a 4,506.89 Km pipeline network for distribution across rural and cluster areas. The state government has sanctioned 1,661.14 INR-Crore for the project.

Meanwhile, the Parvan–Akawad project will serve Jhalawar, Baran, and parts of Kota district. It will cover 907 villages in Baran and 184 villages in the Sangod constituency, ensuring regular potable water supply. This Project, costing 3,523.16 INR-Crore, will benefit 152,437 households. The scheme includes two water treatment plants, two intake pump houses, 41 clear water reservoirs, and 276 elevated reservoirs. It will also feature a 661 Km transmission system and a 9,477 Km distribution pipeline network.

Both these water projects in Rajasthan are targeted for completion by August 2027. They fall under the Jal Jeevan Mission and aim to provide clean, reliable drinking water to around 2.6 lakh households across the four districts.
