The Government of Andhra Pradesh has approved an estimated 3,538 INR-Crore investment by Websol Renewable Private Limited to establish a fully integrated solar manufacturing facility. This 8 GW unit will be located at MPSEZ–Naidupeta in Tirupati district. Moreover, the project will create nearly 2,000 direct jobs and strengthen India’s renewable energy base.

Spread across an anticipated 120 Acres, the Websol solar facility will be executed in two phases. Moreover, commercial production is scheduled to begin in July 2027 and July 2028. Once operational, the unit will produce 4 GW of solar cells and 4 GW of solar modules, ranking among South India’s largest solar projects.

To ensure sustainable operations, the Government has allotted land for a 300 Acres captive solar power plant. Additionally, Websol will set up a 100 MW captive solar plant to reduce costs and enhance energy security. Meanwhile, the project has been sanctioned under the AP Industrial Development Policy (4.0) 2024–29.

The Websol solar facility will consolidate Naidupeta and the southern Tamil Nadu corridor as a key solar manufacturing hub. Besides, clustering with Premier Energies, Tata Power, and Voltsun will create a robust ecosystem of suppliers, logistics, and skilled manpower. Consequently, through these investments, South India is positioned as a globally competitive base for photovoltaic manufacturing.
