The Gujarat Government has unveiled plans to establish the International Medicity near Kadi-Kalol with an estimated investment of 13,000 INR-Crore. Modelled on Dubai Health Care City, the project aims to position Ahmedabad as a global hub for advanced medical facilities.
The Gujarat International Medicity will house high-tech hospitals, R&D centers, a medical college, and a wellness center. Moreover, it will include Joint Commission International-accredited hospitals, medical and nursing colleges, a medical devices park, and cold chain infrastructure. The project is further designed to meet healthcare and research needs for decades.

A blueprint has already been prepared, and land identification is currently underway. Additionally, the project will be implemented through a Medical Value Travel (MVT) board with representatives from the state health and tourism departments. Furthermore, the government intends to complete the Medicity by 2028. The Gujarat International Medicity will serve as a centralized hub for treatment, rehabilitation, and R&D in pharma, biotech, and allied sectors. The project will further attract global investment in medical tourism and strengthen Gujarat’s healthcare ecosystem.
