Punjab secures 1,004 INR-Crore investment for Special Steel Manufacturing Unit in Ludhiana

Punjab has attracted a major industrial investment with AISRM Multimetals Private Limited, part of the Arora Iron Group, committing an estimated 1,003.57 INR-Crore to establish a Special Steel Manufacturing Unit in Ludhiana. Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora announced the project, which will be located at Village Jaspallon on Doraha–Khanna Road.

The facility will span an anticipated 46 Acres and will generate employment for more than 920 people. Implementation will take place in phases, with the first phase scheduled to become operational by September 2027. The Special Steel Manufacturing Unit in Ludhiana will have an installed capacity of 5.40 Lakh Metric Tonnes per Annum (MTPA). Moreover, it will produce round bars, wire rods, coils, and flats using scrap and ferro alloys as raw materials.

To achieve this, the plant will incorporate advanced steelmaking technologies such as induction furnaces, electric arc furnaces, ladle refining furnaces, vacuum degassing, argon oxygen decarburization, continuous casting machines, and rolling mills. These processes will further enable the production of high-quality alloy and special steel products for industrial applications. Meanwhile, the Special Steel Manufacturing Unit in Ludhiana represents a significant step in strengthening Punjab’s industrial base.
