The Delhi government has approved an estimated 806 INR-Crore medical college project in Dwarka, New Delhi. The project aims to strengthen medical education and healthcare infrastructure in the national capital. Officials plan to complete the development by 2028.
Authorities will execute the project in phases. The first phase will focus on the construction of the academic block, student hostels and faculty residential quarters. The development will cover around 117,246 SqM, including nearly 34,000 SqM of basement space. The academic block will be a multi-storey structure with classrooms, laboratories and teaching facilities. The Public Works Department will undertake construction, while the Health and Family Welfare Department will oversee implementation.
The project will include a medical college, an academic block and separate hostels for male and female students. It will also include faculty housing and associated institutional infrastructure. The campus will be developed as per National Medical Commission norms and will eventually accommodate 250 MBBS seats annually. Teaching activities will begin with an initial batch of 150 students.

Additionally, the campus will incorporate earthquake-resistant and energy-efficient infrastructure. It will include solar power systems, rainwater harvesting, water recycling systems and natural lighting features. Once completed, the Dwarka medical college project will expand healthcare education infrastructure in Delhi. It will also support long-term healthcare capacity creation in the national capital.
