Classical Grandeur is a 14,000 SqFt residence located in Jaipur. Designed by Ar. Rajkumar Kumawat, Founder and Principal Architect at Rajkumar Architects, the home reflects a balance between contemporary design and cultural heritage.

The clients envisioned a residence that embraced modern technologies and conveniences while remaining deeply connected to Jaipur’s architectural identity. In response, the design team developed a home that combines contemporary planning with traditional aesthetics. Rather than following repetitive design approaches, the residence adopts a maximalist language that celebrates individuality, craftsmanship, and grandeur.

Architectural Identity of Classical Grandeur

Classical Grandeur establishes a strong visual presence through its contemporary facade. Crisp white walls, clean lines, and sharp edges define the exterior composition. Strategically positioned windows create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow throughout the day.

Cantilevered balconies introduce depth and drama while incorporating pockets of greenery. As visitors enter the property, landscaped gardens and a reflective water body create a calming first impression. Carefully planned uplights, recessed lighting, and well lights further enhance the architecture, transforming the exterior into a sculptural composition after sunset.

Living Spaces Rooted in Elegance

The entrance lobby welcomes visitors with a neutral palette and bespoke sculptures. It establishes the refined character that continues throughout the residence. Beyond the foyer, a double-height living room flows seamlessly into the adjoining dining area. Bespoke sofas upholstered in premium fabrics reinforce the sense of luxury. Meanwhile, the centrally positioned television unit is framed by greenery, introducing a subtle biophilic element into the space.

The dining area continues the material palette through a custom glass-top dining table accented with brass details. Sleek dining chairs complement the furniture while maintaining visual harmony. Marble and brass finishes enhance the luxurious atmosphere. Above the dining space, a lighting fixture inspired by traditional motifs strengthens the connection to regional culture. Nearby, a uniquely designed brass shelving unit functions as both a partition and a storage element, blending practicality with aesthetics.

The residence extends its design language into the lobbies and family lounges. These spaces function as curated galleries that celebrate family, tradition, and cultural heritage. A monochrome collage of family photographs creates a personal focal point, while an organic floral-inspired lighting installation enhances the double-height volume. Upstairs, handcrafted chairs upholstered in neutral fabrics introduce a contemporary contrast within the classic setting.

Traditional paintings enrich the walls, reinforcing the home’s cultural identity. Elsewhere, a bright yellow armchair paired with a compact coffee table introduces a vibrant accent that adds character without disrupting the overall composition.

Private Spaces at Classical Grandeur

The bedrooms respond to the individual preferences of their occupants while maintaining a cohesive design language. The first bedroom combines mustard, white, and soft yellow tones to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Traditional wall panels, printed textiles, and decorative throws celebrate Jaipur’s cultural heritage while reflecting the personality of its occupants.

The second bedroom adopts a calmer palette of beige and pale green. A spacious balcony with dedicated seating extends the living experience outdoors. Warm cove lighting and sleek pendant fixtures create an intimate atmosphere while enhancing the room’s depth. The third bedroom embraces a maximalist approach through muted tones, pastel pink accents, and traditional Jaipur-inspired patterns. A richly upholstered bed forms the centerpiece of the room.
