Indian Railways has approved projects worth an estimated investment of 630 INR-Crore across Gujarat, Bihar and West Bengal. The projects will include an estimated 272 INR-Crore bypass line between Adra and Joychandipahar in South Eastern Railway. The railways has sanctioned 233 INR-Crore investment for installing Electronic Interlocking (EI) in the Eastern Railway, and a 125 INR-Crore yard remodeling project in Gujarat.
The largest of the three projects is an 11 Km bypass-line between Adra end and Joychandipahar in South Eastern Railway. In Gujarat, the yard remodeling project also includes two under bridges, one new RUB, an extension of a present RUB and service buildings. This remodeling will include four loop lines, an engine reversal line, ART and ARME siding. Additionally, relocation of the station and EI building and a new high-level platform is part of it. Moreover, the yard remodeling project will involve widening the existing platform, an extension of the current foot over bridge and the construction of a new FOB.

Indian Railways aims to expand operational capacity, modernize signaling infrastructure and improve freight movement. The yard remodeling project will shift stabling and other operational activities to Bhavnagar Para, helping reduce rake detention, improve train movements and support better punctuality.
