Odisha has secured a major clean energy investment, with ACME Group signing an agreement with Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha Limited (IPICOL) to establish a green methanol plant. The project, worth an estimated 12,422 INR-Crore, is among the largest green methanol investments announced in eastern India.
The proposed facility will have an annual production capacity of around 200,000 Tonnes of green methanol. Moreover, it will position Odisha as a key location within India’s emerging clean-fuels ecosystem. The project is further expected to play a pivotal role in advancing sustainable energy solutions. ACME Group plans to commission the green methanol plant in Odisha between 2029 and 2030.

Additionally, the company is in talks with global shipping firms for long-term supply agreements. ACME also has ongoing green hydrogen and green ammonia projects in Odisha, including facilities near Paradip and Gopalpur. Meanwhile, the ACME green methanol plant in Odisha reinforces the state’s strategy to emerge as a clean energy and green fuels manufacturing hub. It also supports India’s broader National Green Hydrogen Mission, strengthening the country’s transition towards low-carbon energy.
