Karnataka Cabinet clears 13,262 INR-Crore Bengaluru elevated corridor projects

Karnataka Cabinet has approved the Bengaluru elevated corridor projects with an estimated investment of 13,262 INR-Crore. The decision was announced on Thursday, 16 April, as part of a long-term traffic decongestion strategy for Bengaluru. The projects will cover multiple high-traffic corridors across the city.

The projects will include 11 elevated corridors spanning 75.6 Km across the city. Key stretches include a split flyover at MEI Junction on Tumkur Road, and grade separators from West of Chord Road to Outer Ring Road in Mahalakshmi Layout. An elevated corridor will run from Doddaballapura Road (Police Station Junction) to NH-7 at Kogilu Circle via Old Yelahanka town. Additional corridors include Konankunte Circle and Raghuvanahalli Cross along Kanakapura Road. Further, corridors will be developed from Minerva Circle to Hudson Circle, and from Sangolli Rayanna Circle to KR Circle. Other key stretches include Sirsi Circle to Nayandahalli on Mysuru Road, and Sholay Circle to St John’s Hospital along Hosur Road.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved a 436.44 INR-Crore elevated rotary flyover at IOC Junction and a two-lane railway overbridge at Baiyyappanahalli. It also cleared an 85 INR-Crore biogas purification and compression system using sewage treatment plant sludge. The Bengaluru elevated corridor projects will reduce congestion across major arterial routes. These will also improve urban mobility and support long-term transport infrastructure development in the city.
