The CORO Experience Center in Mahadevapura, Bengaluru spans 9,000 SqFt and redefines how materials are experienced. Conceptualised by Vithal Savant, Founder of CORO and CEO of Ace Spaces India and designed by Neha Vikram, Founder and Principal Designer at Checkered Spaces, the project moves beyond the format of a conventional product gallery.
The space builds on the idea that architectural finishes act as catalysts for creative exploration. As a result, it invites architects, designers, and homeowners to engage with materials actively. Instead of simply displaying products, the center positions itself as a maker’s lab and ideation space.

A Playground for Material Discovery at CORO Experience Center
The CORO Experience Center challenges traditional display formats. It does not isolate materials as static samples. Instead, it integrates them into the architecture itself.
Floors, walls, furniture, partitions, and installations function as live demonstrations. This approach shifts material selection from a passive act to an immersive experience. Consequently, users engage directly with textures, finishes, and applications in real time.

Designing for Exploration
The layout encourages free movement rather than fixed pathways. Visitors can wander, pause, and revisit different zones. This flexibility allows them to build their own understanding of materials.
Texture trails, layered walls, and functional vignettes support hands-on interaction. As a result, exploration becomes a continuous and intuitive process.

The Building as a Journey at CORO Experience Center
The CORO Experience Center unfolds vertically across four levels. Each floor introduces a distinct way of engaging with materials. The entry level reinterprets familiar forms through sculptural interventions. Coro Rocco™ surfaces appear as monolithic elements, while integrated features blur the line between function and installation. The first floor focuses on lived environments. It center around kitchen and dining spaces, where materials come together as cohesive systems.
The second floor shifts toward experimentation. Here, materials are bent, stretched, and redefined through parametric forms. Contour walls guide movement, while patterned installations introduce rhythm. Coro Aria™ transforms acoustic systems into sculptural elements.
Finally, the journey culminates at Bariro, an open terrace. Anchored by in-situ terrazzo, it serves as a space for gathering, collaboration, and reflection. At this point, the project reinforces its core intent—bringing people together through design.

A Curated Landscape of Materials
The project brings together multiple design brands within a single framework. Instead of separating them into zones, the design integrates them throughout the building. Each material takes on structural, functional, or decorative roles. As a result, the building operates as a living catalogue. It demonstrates how materials evolve from samples into complete spatial elements.

An Experience Designed to Evolve
The CORO Experience Center is designed as an adaptable system. Displays and installations remain flexible, allowing the space to evolve over time. This ensures that new ideas and material innovations can continuously reshape the environment.
For Vithal Savant, this adaptability defines the project’s core philosophy:
“CORO was imagined as a Design Wonderland — a place to reveal the capacity and capabilities of the materials we work with. It tries to break the stereotype of a ‘store’. You come here to feel, play with, and even question materials.”
Neha Vikram further explains the material-led approach:
“CORO was born from one single belief — that it will not be shaped by any one person’s perspective, but by the story of its materials speaking in their own voice. True to its name, drawn from the word ‘choir’, each material here carries its own tune, whether forged by technology or shaped by hand. This is the kind of space you can walk through a hundred times and still find something new.”
Samuel Mathew highlights the role of branding in shaping the experience:
“Many brands add their identity towards the end; we built ours into the DNA from the very start. The branding shaped strategy, guided communication, and grew alongside design, becoming a part of the system.”
The CORO Experience Center positions itself as a material innovation lab. It combines spatial design, branding, and material exploration into a unified system.
By encouraging curiosity and collaboration, the project transforms the way materials are perceived and used. It creates a platform where ideas evolve, and design possibilities expand through direct engagement.
