The Government of Maharashtra has signed MoUs worth an estimated 6.5 Lakh INR-Crore for the development of large-scale nuclear energy projects in the state. Authorities signed the agreements, with Adani Power, NTPC Limited and Lalitpur Power Generation Company of the Bajaj Group. The proposed Maharashtra nuclear power projects will collectively generate 25,400 MW of power capacity.
Under the agreements, Reliance Industries will invest around 2 Lakh INR-Crore to develop 7,200 MW capacity. Adani Power has proposed an investment of 1.5 Lakh INR-Crore for 6,000 MW projects. Additionally, NTPC Limited will invest about 1 Lakh INR-Crore for 7,200 MW capacity. Lalitpur Power Generation Company will invest nearly 2 Lakh INR-Crore to develop 5,000 MW of nuclear power capacity. The projects are expected to generate approximately 123,500 jobs across Maharashtra.

The Maharashtra nuclear power projects will significantly expand the state’s clean energy generation infrastructure. They will also support long-term power demand growth and strengthen Maharashtra’s position in India’s nuclear energy sector.
