The Maharashtra Government has cleared 2 major infrastructure projects in Mumbai and Pune. The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure approved Mumbai Metro Line 13 and the eastern extension of the proposed Pune Ring Road. MMRDA will implement the 17,725 INR-Crore Mumbai Metro Line 13 project. Meanwhile, MSRDC will implement the revised an estimated 10,502.36 INR-Crore Pune Ring Road extension.
Mumbai Metro Line 13 will cover 25.03 Km between Mira-Bhayandar and Vasai-Virar. The corridor will include a 21.78 Km elevated section and a 3.25 Km underground section. It will have 16 stations, including 3 underground stations. Additionally, the project includes a 4.92 Km, 6-lane integrated road-and-metro double-deck bridge across Vasai Creek. The bridge will also include a link to Panju Island. The corridor will have a depot at Chikhal Dongri in Virar. Meanwhile, the Pune Ring Road extension will cover 31.805 Km between Soratwadi on Pune-Solapur Road and Varve on Pune-Satara Road. The access-controlled expressway will have 3 lanes on each side. Its scope includes 1 interchange, 3 major bridges, 5 minor bridges, 18 elevated sections or flyovers, and 4 tunnels.

The Mumbai Metro Line 13 will connect Mira Road, Vasai, Nalasopara, Naigaon and Virar. It will also connect with suburban railway stations at Naigaon, Nalasopara and Virar. Further, the corridor will link with Metro 9 at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium. The corridor is projected to carry 4.49 lakh passengers daily by 2031. Meanwhile, the Pune Ring Road extension will divert inter-state and intra-state traffic around Pune city. Around 80% of land acquisition for the ring road project has been completed. The project is planned for completion by June 2029.
