Delhi plans 24,800 INR-Crore infrastructure projects to improve NCR connectivity

Delhi and the Central Government are jointly planning seven infrastructure projects worth approximately 24,800 INR-Crore. CM Rekha Gupta announced the projects on Thursday, May 28 following a review meeting with Nitin Gadkari.

The proposed infrastructure pipeline includes an 8 Km six-lane tunnel from Nelson Mandela Marg to Shiv Murti in Gurugram at an estimated cost of 7,000 INR-Crore. Authorities are also planning a 20 Km six-lane AIIMS–Mahipalpur–Gurugram elevated corridor worth 5,000 INR-Crore. Additionally, a 17 Km Delhi–Dehradun Expressway link project worth 3,500 INR-Crore will connect Urban Extension Road-2 with the expressway near Tronica City.

Further, the plan includes a 65 Km six-lane Noida–Faridabad corridor via the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway at an estimated investment of 7,000 INR-Crore. Authorities will also develop a 17 Km Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway connectivity project worth 1,500 INR-Crore. The infrastructure package additionally covers 26 Km service roads along UER-II at a cost of 6,500 INR-Crore and a 300 INR-Crore interchange project near Okhla Barrage at Kalindi Kunj.

Authorities expect work on some corridors to begin between December 2026 and April 2027. Once completed, the Delhi NCR infrastructure projects will improve regional mobility and strengthen connectivity across major urban corridors in NCR.
