Building Construction Projects Insights – May 2026
The 793 new building projects incorporated in May 2026 cover a combined 282 Million-SqFt, with a total construction cost of 116,394 INR-Crore. Of these, 360 projects are under construction, while 433 are in the early stages. The breakdown further includes 561 private projects and 232 public projects.
Among the significant construction projects is the NBCC Commercial Complex in Ghitorni, Delhi. The project involves the development of a commercial complex on a 21.23 Acres land parcel with a construction area of approximately 5.9 Million-SqFt. The estimated construction cost of the project is 2,070 INR-Crore. As of May 2026, the tender has been floated for the selection of a consultant to provide comprehensive consultancy services.
Another notable construction project is the CIDCO Integrated Residential Township in Airoli, Maharashtra. CIDCO is developing the project on a 68.8 Acres land parcel with a construction area of approximately 30.19 Million-SqFt. The estimated construction cost stands at 21,520 INR-Crore. As of May 2026, the tender has been floated for the selection of a private developer.
In May 2026, Biltrax recorded 368 new tenders with a total tender value of over 40,599.47 INR-Crore. Notable tender issuers include the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Construction & Design Services Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (CDSUPJN), Uttar Pradesh Project Corporation Limited (UPPCL), NBCC (India) Limited and Madhya Pradesh Public Work Department (MPPWD)
Industrial and Infrastructure Projects Insights
In May 2026, Biltrax’s BX-2 platform also documented 351 industrial projects worth 82,870 INR-Crore & 303 infrastructure projects worth 28,227 INR-Crore.
The 351 industrial projects span a total area of 61.72 Million-SqFt. Maharashtra led with 65 projects. Meanwhile, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh followed closely.
BX-2 also tracked 267 water infrastructure projects worth 21,394 INR-Crore in May. Karnataka attracted the highest number of water projects. BX-2 documented 38 water infrastructure projects in the state. Haryana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh followed closely.
May 2026 also saw major industrial projects. A notable industrial project is the Bharat Coal Ammonium Nitrate Manufacturing Unit Phase 2 in Lakhanpur, Odisha. Bharat Coal Gasification Chemicals Limited is developing the project on a 350 Acres land parcel with a construction area of approximately 750,000 SqFt. The estimated construction cost of Phase 2 stands at 5,891 INR-Crore. The overall project is being developed in two phases, with each phase comprising two buildings. BHEL is executing Phase 1, while L&T is executing Phase 2.
Lastly, a major transport infrastructure project includes NHAI four-laning of the Tansen Chowk to Prithvipur section of NH-719 (Package 1) in Madhya Pradesh. The project involves the construction and upgradation of a 77 Km highway stretch to a four-lane configuration with paved shoulders. Furthermore, the estimated construction cost of the project is 1,182 INR-Crore. As of May 2026, the tender has been floated for the selection of a private developer.
