In March 2026, Biltrax Construction Data documented over 1,631 new construction projects. These include 869 building projects and 762 industrial & infrastructure projects.
Building Construction Projects Insights – March 2026
The 869 new building projects incorporated in March 2026 cover a combined 251.42 Million-SqFt, with a total construction cost of 92,796 INR-Crore. Of these, 298 projects are under construction, while 571 are in the early stages. The breakdown further includes 476 private projects and 393 public projects.
Among the significant construction projects is the Mahindra Rainforest residential project in Kanjurmarg, Mumbai. Being developed by Mahindra Lifespaces, the project further spans a land parcel on an anticipated 25.47 Acres. It will deliver a large-scale residential development with a total development potential of 8,409,643 SqFt. The development will feature five residential towers and is expected to complete by 2031.
Another notable construction project is the Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth Educational & Hospital Project, Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth is actively developing this project. It will spawl on an anticipated 95.46 Acres of land parcel. Meanwhile, the project has an estimated construction cost of 746 INR-Crore. As of April 2026, foundation work for the project is in progress.
In March 2026, Biltrax recorded 507 new tenders with a total tender value of over 15,990.9 INR-Crore. Notable tender issuers include the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Construction & Design Services Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (CDSUPJN), NBCC (India) Limited, Chhattisgarh Police Housing Corporation Ltd (CGPHC) and Building Construction Department (Bihar).
Industrial and Infrastructure Projects Insights
In March 2026, Biltrax’s BX-2 platform also documented 438 industrial projects worth 125,368 INR-Crore & 324 infrastructure projects worth 29,114 INR-Crore.
The 438 industrial projects span a total area of 80.41 Million-SqFt. Maharashtra led with 67 projects. Meanwhile, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha followed closely.
BX-2 also tracked 257 water infrastructure projects worth 17,209 INR-Crore in March. Maharashtra attracted the highest number of water projects. BX-2 documented 35 water infrastructure projects in the state. Rajasthan, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar followed closely.
March 2026 also saw major transport infrastructure projects. One such notable project is the National Highways Authority of India’s (NHAI) four Lanning of Ujjain to Jhalawar Section of NH 552G. Furthermore, the project will be developed in two packages with a total estimated cost of 2,722 INR-Crore. Package 1 from 0.0 Km (Khilchipura village) to 86.5 Km (Akali – Kadiya village) with a construction cost of 1,462 INR-Crore. Package 2 from 86.5 Km (Akali – Kadiya village) to 159.263 Km (Jhalawar) with a construction cost of 1,260 INR-Crore.
Lastly, a major industrial project in March 2026 includes the Solar Industries Robots & UAV Manufacturing Unit, in Mihan SEZ. Being developed by Solar Industries India Limited. The project spans an anticipated 223 Acres land parcel. The foundation stone was laid at the site.
