Andhra Pradesh cabinet approves 34,000 INR-Crore investment proposals

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has approved investment proposals worth an estimated 34,000 INR-Crore that were earlier cleared by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB). The Cabinet approved more than 80 agenda items covering industries, information technology, tourism, renewable energy, data centers, and capital city development. According to the state government, the approved proposals are expected to generate around 35,000 jobs.

The Cabinet also approved infrastructure works worth 426 INR-Crore in Undavalli. Additionally, it sanctioned the construction of the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Academy at an estimated cost of 139 INR-Crore. The government approved incentives for five-star hotels and convention centers in Amaravati. Further approvals include tourism infrastructure projects in Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Kurnool, and Annavaram. The Cabinet also cleared land allocation for solar and wind power projects in Anantapur and Kadapa districts. Additionally, it approved measures to encourage biogas plant development. The government also rationalized the operational limits of Machilipatnam and Ramayapatnam ports. Further, the Cabinet approved the creation of 95 temporary posts under the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) to support the Amaravati Land Pooling Scheme.

The Andhra Pradesh investment proposals will support infrastructure creation across multiple sectors. Furthermore, the approvals aim to strengthen tourism, renewable energy, urban infrastructure, and maritime development. The projects will accelerate investment activity and support the ongoing development of Amaravati as the state capital.
