The Torrent Group is undertaking ongoing and upcoming projects worth over 43,000 INR-Crore in Madhya Pradesh. The projects span energy and pharmaceutical infrastructure across the state. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav discussed the investments with Torrent Group Chairman Samir Mehta in Ahmedabad. The developments are expected to create over 15,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
The largest project is a 1,600 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in Anuppur. Torrent Power is investing around 22,000 INR-Crore in the project. It is expected to generate around 7,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. A Power Purchase Agreement was signed with Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited on January 27, 2026. Land acquisition has been completed, while L&T and Tata Projects have received work packages. Meanwhile, Torrent is developing the 1,500 MW Patalkot Pumped Storage Project in Chhindwara. The project involves 7,500 INR-Crore and is expected to generate around 4,000 jobs.
A 250 MW wind energy project is also under development in Ratlam and Ujjain. It involves 2,000 INR-Crore and is expected to create around 500 jobs. Further, Torrent is working on another 800 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power project. This project involves 11,000 INR-Crore and is expected to generate 3,500 jobs. The Group also operates a USFDA-approved pharmaceutical manufacturing unit in Pithampur. The facility involved an investment of 300 INR-Crore and employs more than 400 people.

The Torrent Group investment in Madhya Pradesh will expand the state’s power generation and energy storage capacity. Additionally, the projects will add wind and pumped storage infrastructure. The state is also initiating a tender for 2,800 MW of thermal power capacity under the DBFOO model. Torrent Power has been invited to participate in the tender. These developments will support the state’s future power infrastructure and industrial capacity.
