Afcons secures 5,301 INR-Crore Vadhavan Port breakwater contract

Afcons Infrastructure Limited has secured an estimated 5,301 INR-Crore contract for the construction of the Vadhavan Port breakwater project in Maharashtra. Vadhavan Port Project Ltd awarded the contract following a competitive bidding process that included ITD Cementation India Limited, Larsen & Toubro Ltd and Archirodon Group among other bidders.

The scope of work includes the design and construction of an offshore breakwater for the proposed Vadhavan Port development. The package involves large-scale marine engineering and associated port protection infrastructure required for the greenfield port project. Additionally, the contract forms a critical component of the overall Vadhavan Port master plan, which aims to develop deep-draft maritime infrastructure along India’s western coast.

Once completed, the Vadhavan Port breakwater project is expected to strengthen maritime infrastructure capacity in Maharashtra. It will also support cargo handling growth, improve port connectivity, and enhance India’s long-term shipping and logistics network.
