Delhi to get 97 Km metro network expansion under 48,204 INR-Crore plan

The Government of India has approved a major metro expansion plan for Delhi. The project will add 97 Km of new metro lines along with 65 stations. The total estimated investment stands at 48,204 INR-Crore. It aims to strengthen urban mobility in the national capital. It will also expand the reach of the Delhi Metro network.

The scope of the project includes the development of seven new corridors across Delhi. This forms part of the next phase of metro expansion. The Dhansa Bus Stand–Nangloi corridor will span 11.859 Km. It will feature nine elevated stations. The Central Secretariat–Kishangarh corridor will cover 15.969 Km. Most of this stretch will be underground, with 10 stations. The Samaypur Badli–Narela corridor will extend 12.89 Km. It will include eight elevated stations.

Furthermore, Kirti Nagar–Palam corridor will span 9.967 Km. It will comprise six stations across mixed alignments. The Jor Bagh–Mithapur corridor will cover 16.991 Km with 12 stations. The Shastri Park–Mayur Vihar Phase III corridor will extend 13.197 Km. It will include eight stations. Additionally, the Keshavpuram–Rohini Sector 34 corridor will span 16.285 Km. This corridor will feature 12 elevated stations. The network will also include multiple interchange points. Moreover, these will integrate with existing metro lines and improve connectivity across key residential and commercial zones.
