State-owned NLC India Limited has announced that its subsidiary, NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), has secured a Letter of Intent (LoI) for a 900 MW solar power project in Gujarat. Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) awarded the project through a tariff-based competitive bidding process. NIRL will develop the project, while GUVNL will procure the electricity generated from the facility.
The Gujarat 900 MW solar power project marks a significant addition to NIRL’s renewable energy portfolio. NLC India stated that NIRL received the LoI from GUVNL for the development of the utility-scale solar project. The company incorporated NIRL in 2023 to acquire and manage its green energy assets and projects. Additionally, the subsidiary focuses on developing power generation systems based on renewable and non-conventional energy sources.
