The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved six road infrastructure projects in Bengal. These projects include four state highways and two major district roads. The project is worth an estimated 1,042.6 INR-Crore. Meanwhile, the state government will develop nearly 194 Km of road network using this fund.
The state highway stretches selected for widening and strengthening are a 5 Km stretch of Changrabandha, Jamaldah, and Mathabhanga. The government has also selected a 35 Km corridor from Mathabhanga to Cooch Behar Road and a 24 Km stretch of Monteshwar-Dainhat Road in East Burdwan. Furthermore, it includes a 45 Km stretch of Burdwan-Katwa Road and a 28 Km section of Raghunathpur-Chandankairy Chas Road in Purulia.

The Bengal road projects will upgrade two major district roads, including a 36 Km stretch of Sultangacha-Khanpur-Dasghara Road in Hooghly. The other project involves a 12 Km stretch of Bishnupur Beliaghata Road under Barasat highway division in North 24 Parganas.
