Project Overview:
The National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) is implementing the four-laning of the Baihata Chariali to Tezpur section of NH-15 in Assam. The project covers approximately 135.87 Km and carries an estimated construction cost of 7,642.20 INR-Crore. NHIDCL has proposed the development under the BOT Toll mode, with construction planned from 2026 to 2029.
The project involves upgrading the existing highway corridor to a four-lane highway, including new and upgraded road infrastructure along the route. The construction scope covers earthwork, granular sub-base and base works, shoulders, bituminous pavement, and rigid pavement components. It also includes the construction or improvement of culverts, minor bridges, pedestrian and cattle underpasses, pedestrian overpasses, grade-separated structures, and approaches to major structures.
Furthermore, the development will incorporate supporting highway infrastructure such as service and slip roads, toll plazas, roadside drains, road signage and markings. It also includes crash barriers, bus bays, truck lay-bys, rest areas, roadside plantation, slope protection, toe and retaining walls, and utility infrastructure.
